WCHA mourns death of former executive director

Former Westmoreland County Housing Authority (WCHA) Executive Director Leonard “Skeets” Paletta passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 24, 2023, at the age of 92.

Prior to his retirement, he served as executive director for the Westmoreland County Housing Authority for 33 years.

“It’s with deepest sympathy to his family and friends from all of us at WCHA,” said current WCHA Executive Director Michael L. Washowich. Mr. Paletta was a pioneer in the affordable housing industry.”

Mr. Paletta was an original board member of the Westmoreland County Community College and served as president of the Pennsylvania Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities (PAHRA).
