Regular HCV Waiting List to Close

The Westmoreland County Housing Authority (WCHA) is closing its regular (non-preference) Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program waiting list effective midnight January 31, 2023. While the regular HCV waiting list is closing, all other waiting lists will remain open.

This decision was made because of the large number of applications dating back several years and the length of time that a new applicant would have to wait to receive assistance.   All active applicants on the regular HCV waiting list on January 31, 2023, will continue to be processed accordingly. 

This waiting list will reopen when there is a reasonable number of applications remaining, and where the wait time is estimated to be less than two years. When the waiting list is reopened, the WCHA will give public notice by posting a notice on this website and by publishing the relevant information in various media outlets.
